Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has stormed the number one position in the UK all-format game chart, according to Chart Track.
The EA shooter becomes the fastest selling game of the year thus far, outselling the original Bad Company by a considerable factor of three-to-one.
In fact, according to Chart Track’s statistics boffins, Bad Company 2 has set the record for the best selling launch of a game this early in the year.
Heavy Rain, last week’s chart topper, has slipped (in a puddle, possibly) back down to number four. How much the supply issues which hit the game last week have contributed to its decline, we’re not sure.
Just Dance continues to sell strongly, and is now at number two, with Alien vs Predator at number three.
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing finds itself at number five, followed by Wii Fit Plus, Modern Warfare 2, then Wii Sports Resort.
The PC strategy title, Supreme Commander 2, is a new entry but only manages to claim the number twenty-three spot.
Only 16% of Bad Company 2’s sales were on PC format, as well, which puts the computer’s market share against the next-gen consoles in perspective.
